Charter Labs Inc. ("Charter Labs," "we," "us," or "our") is a software technology company incorporated in Delaware, United States.

Our website, located at charterlabs.io (the "Site"), provides information about the Charter Wallet mobile application and allows visitors to sign up for early access.

Charter Labs is the data controller for personal information collected through this Site.

This Website Privacy Notice applies solely to information collected through this Site. It does not apply to the Charter Wallet mobile application, which is governed by a separate Privacy Policy.


2. What Information We Collect — And What We Do Not

Information You Provide

When you submit your email address through our waitlist or early access sign-up form, we collect:

  • Your email address

This is the only personal information we collect through this Site. We do not request your name, phone number, mailing address, or any other personal details.

Information We Do Not Collect Automatically

Our Site:

  • Does not use cookies

  • Does not use tracking pixels or web beacons

  • Does not use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)

  • Does not use advertising trackers

  • Does not use session storage or local storage

  • Does not use third-party marketing tools

We do not collect browsing behavior, device identifiers, or behavioral data.

We also do not intentionally collect IP addresses or server log information beyond what is technically required for basic website hosting, security, and infrastructure protection.

If this changes in the future, we will update this Notice prior to deploying such technologies and, where required by law, obtain your consent.

3. How We Use Your Email Address

We use your email address solely to:

  • Add you to our product waitlist

  • Send a confirmation or welcome email

  • Notify you when early access becomes available

  • Send occasional, relevant product updates related to Charter Wallet

We do not use your email address for unrelated marketing purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not add your email address to third-party marketing lists.

You may withdraw from the waitlist or request deletion of your email at any time (see Section 6).


4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the legal basis for processing your email address is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

You provide consent by voluntarily submitting your email address through our waitlist form.

You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.


5. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising or profiling purposes.

Under California law, Charter Labs does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may share your email address only with:

  • Email delivery service providers that process data on our behalf solely to send waitlist confirmations or product launch notifications

All service providers are bound by contractual data processing agreements and may only use your information for the specific services we request.

We may also disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or regulatory authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Charter Labs or others.


6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your email address:

Opt-Out / Unsubscribe

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
You may also contact us directly at business@charterlabs.io to request removal.

Access

You may request confirmation of whether we hold your email address and obtain a copy of that data.

Correction

If your email address changes, you may request an update.

Deletion

You may request deletion of your email address at any time.
We will process deletion requests promptly, typically within 30 days.

Restriction

You may request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.

Residents of the EU and UK also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority if they believe their rights have been violated.

7. Data Retention

We retain your email address until the earliest of:

  • You unsubscribe or request deletion

  • The Charter Wallet launches and the waitlist is closed

  • Two (2) years have elapsed from registration without active waitlist engagement

After any of the above, your email address will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.


8. International Transfers

Charter Labs is based in the United States.

If you are located in the EU, EEA, UK, Brazil, or another jurisdiction with data transfer restrictions, your email address may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as your country of residence.

Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.

9. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 18.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted their email address, please contact us and we will promptly delete the information.


10. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites or social media platforms.

This Privacy Notice does not apply to those third-party services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.


11. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Website Privacy Notice from time to time.

If we make material changes — particularly if we begin collecting additional data or introduce cookies or tracking technologies — we will update this Notice with a revised “Last Updated” date prior to those changes taking effect.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain renewed consent.
